2004

  • William Persell, Bishop of Chicago, grants permission to form St. Paul's Benedictine Community
  • Work begins on a constitution
  • November: Website put up


2005

  • 21 June:  Constitution adopted
  • 16 August:  Fr. Thomas Fraser elected prior; Steve Olderr appointed formation director; Geoffrey Layton appointed secretary
  • 13 September:  Six people form the first postulant group


2006

  • April: Finished study and discussion of Seeking God: The Way of St. Benedict
  • May: Began study and discussion of "Guidelines for Oblates"
  • October: First annual retreat at St. Gregory's Abbey
  • November: Finished study and discussion of "Guidelines for Oblates."


2007

  • January:  Discussion and study of St. Benedict's Toolbox begins
